SF Skyline commission

OMG.
This commission took me almost a year to finish. Usually I knock out paintings super fast, but for some reason, I was just totally blocked on this one. I had the legs under it, but they wouldn't take off.

But here it is! It's done! Yay! I get to paint other things now!! And (best of all) the person who commissioned it was THRILLED with how it came out. Frankly, I am too - it was worth the wait. :)

Close-ups under the cut...

Check out that sweet red teakettle!
Also the painting, or whatever.

The client requested a nighttime sf cityscape, over 4 canvases, with [what is apparently] my signature blue-black gradient. other than that, I had completely free reign. I definitely feel that, while the pieces *could* stand on their own, they're best viewed together - on their own, they don't quite stand up to close-up inspection. It's kind of my first foray into macro-scale painting - it almost feels like macroimpressionism, where up close the painting doesn't mean much but from a distance it's pretty rad? I think I prefer my typical style of "From a distance it's cool, but as you get closer you notice more stuff" - but this was a really great foray into the realm of this style, and I am so glad to have had the experience. :)

All that said, I'm now available for commissions! Holla at me if you've been waiting.
